The Tiny Farms Projects Are Taking New Shape!
We’re excited about some new directions the projects are taking. The Art Farm has expanded into a Not-For-Profit community network building endeavor that included Nate’s vision for a tool lending library! We’re calling it THE HUB. Check out the HUB page!
Also, our first “teeny farm” has been dubbed Fertile Federal. Check that one out as well.
The Tiny Farms Project
Not all farms are the enormous lots of land dedicated to the raising of various crops and livestock. Some farms are tiny. Some farms cultivate crops besides the kind we can eat.
The Tiny Farms Project is a group of people who seek to manifest a broader interpretation of “farming”.
We aim to cultivate a greater sense of community among the people of Central Oregon. We plan to do this through a number of various tiny farm projects.
Teeny Farm – A community garden in the Westside neighborhood in Bend.
Art Farm – A not-for-profit VISUAL ART center that accepts donations of potential art & craft materials that have been taking up valuable space or collecting dust in the basements, attics, garages, sheds, closets and craft rooms of Central Oregon residents, and sells them for a very low retail cost in order to enable the Art Farm to offer art classes, workshops, gallery space, studio/work space, a craft idea publication, and a small library to the community.
*Want to donate? If you are interested in unloading your pile of possible art materials please contact us for more information at thetinyfarms@gmail.com
Tool Lending Service - We are working in conjunction and sharing space at the Art Farm with Nate Bettger and the 501c3 organization, Bridgeworks to offer a Work Trade and Tool Lending service. For more information check out: http://natebettger.com/bridgeworks/
